The Sims 3 Receives Its First Update in Almost Ten Years

The Sims 3 has received a new patch on EA App for Windows users. This is the first time the game has been updated in nearly a decade.

With the new patch, newer machines with Intel CPUs can now run the game properly. There are no further changes to the game itself.

The Sims 3: EA Removes Patch Downloads for MAC (UPDATE)

UPDATE: EA has corrected the issue of missing patches. However, I still highly suggest downloading and saving patches just to be safe.

In a concerning turn of events, has noticed that EA has removed the manual patches (digital) for Sims 3 mac users from their servers. There’s been no announcement about this from EA officially, but the links are definitely dead and gone.

As a word of caution, I would highly suggest that if you play Sims 3 on Windows PC’s, now would be a good time to download ALL manual game patches for safekeeping. We have links to EA’s patches here, or you can download the last super patch here.

Choosing Which Packs to Play

The Sims 3 Expansion and Stuff Pack Manager lets you choose which Expansion and Stuff Packs to play with.

Before making your selection, install all of the Expansion and Stuff Packs you own. Only packs that you have installed will display in the Pack Selector. Once all of your packs are installed, locate the ones you want to play with, then check the checkbox next to the pack. Once you finish making your selections, press the Play button to launch The Sims 3 with the desired Expansion and Stuff Packs selected.

When choosing which packs to play with, we recommend selecting only a couple at a time. This will ensure you have the best game experience.
