The Sims team has officially announced that The Sims 4 Parenthood and Kids Room Stuff are coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on June 19th! For information on these games and what’s included, check out our Parenthood and Kids Room Guides!
Move over, fully-grown Sims. Two new The Sims™4 packs* are coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on June 19, 2018, and they’re all about kids and teens! As a little preview to kick-start your parental instincts, below are three things to get excited about each pack.
The Sims 4 Parenthood
Character Values
Raising kids in The Sims 4 has never been more meaningful. In this pack, choices you make when raising kids truly matter, all the way into their adulthood! As you develop parenting skills, there are five character values you can grow throughout kids’ and teens’ lives: manners, emotional control, empathy, responsibility, and conflict resolution. When you scold or praise kids – whichever is more your parenting style – they’re more likely to behave.Family Matters
Want some family-friendly activities? You got ‘em! Your young students will bring home school projects they can put together at home. Parents will also have opportunities to volunteer at school and will receive calls from school about solving conflicts with their child. The answers they give will affect those character values we talked about. Oh, and it may not seem like a family activity, but don’t forget about the always-important curfew. This will be helpful to keep families on the same page. Kids need boundaries, after all!
Phased and Confused
Children and teens go through phases, just like us, and this can alter their day-to-day moods and activities. For some Sims, that means lots of emotions and blasting music at all hours. For others, it’s melancholy all the way, and only certain things will be able to cheer them up. (Note to self: wear bear costume.) In other words, be prepared for whatever they throw your way!

From floor to ceiling, you can customize kids’ rooms to their hearts’ content. Wall decals, posters, paper lanterns, and toy chests provide the perfect environment for comfort and fun. As a child progresses through the social skill, they’ll get the Puppet Theater! There are many magical stories to perform, and different tales unlock as the child levels up this skill. Customizing and decorating your kid’s room will be tons of fun, and it’ll be the perfect backdrop for the Voidcritter Battle Station. Kids can test their skills and go head-to-head in this competitive card game. Using one of twenty collectible cards that can be found around your Sims’ world, the aim is for your Voidcritter to come out victorious. Mini-game lovers unite! With the release of The Sims 4 Kids Room Stuff*, the first pack themed just for children, the options for customizing their rooms are now richer than ever before. Check out these five tips on starting a fun kid’s room makeover.
Make it exciting. Kids are bustling with energy, so it’s always a good idea to build a space that keeps them excited and engaged. Add some activities to their room so that they have their own personal space to play in. The new Puppet Theater and Voidcritter Battle Station that come with The Sims 4 Kids Room Stuff are fantastic for kids passing time by themselves, or when hanging out with siblings or friends.
Wall decals are ideal for decorating a kid’s space. Slap them on the wall, peel them back off… they’re perfect for a kid’s lifestyle where the current hot trend can quickly become yesterday’s news. The Sims 4 Kids Room Stuff comes with a number of new decals, including one for each of the collectible Voidcritter monsters!
Make it cluttered. Adding clutter to a room is a great way to make a space feel lived in – doubly so for children, with their parents always getting after them to clean up their room. Browse through the décor section of the catalog and you’ll find backpacks, sports equipment, stacks of schoolbooks, model trains, and so much more. Add some of the new shelving in Kids Room Stuff to hold it all!
Pick a pattern. Catalog variants aren’t just for changing color, they can also add patterns or even change an object’s shape entirely. One of my favorites in The Sims 4 Kids Room Stuff is the wall light string with photos clipped to it. Changing variants on the object will actually change the photos, allowing for additional customization. Another fun one is the giant robot wall decal which comes in a stoic position where it stands guard, as well as an action pose where it’s ready to leap into battle.
Embrace passion. A kid’s room often speaks to what they’re passionate about. Is your kid dreaming of becoming an astronaut? Perhaps they’ve taken an interest in growing flowers in the family’s garden. Or maybe they have a framed jersey of a soccer star on their wall, as they imagine themselves one day stepping onto the pitch. The furniture in The Sims 4 Kids Room Stuff covers a range of themes to help personalize your Sims kid’s story.
