Hi everyone! 😀 This is the second of many blog posts from my trip to Sims Camp in Germany. I even made a special Category Tag: Sims Camp, so you can read all these blogs in one place. These little “blog posts” will detail events and occurrences from the trip, so grab some popcorn and read away!
♦ Sims Camp (Day #1) – Travel Babbles!

♦ Sims Camp (Day #3) – The Sims 4 Preview
♦ Sims Camp (Day #4) – The Sims 4 Build & Animations
Thank You’s
Before I continue, I want to take a moment once again to thank each and every one of you, for being the main reason why I was invited to this event to begin with. Your support and dedication is what made this happen, so thank you for two and half years of fun, and here’s to a million more!
Another thank you goes out to EA, Maxis and The Sims Team for the invite, and for hosting such an amazing event! It was an experience I will never forget! Thank you!
Good Morning!
You’d think that a good night’s sleep would break jet lag, but you’re wrong! At this point, my sleeping schedule was so messed up, I thought I would wake up feeling like Debbie Reynolds, Gene Kelly & Donald O’Connor!
Of course, this wasn’t the case. I was hungry though, so I headed straight for the lobby. On my way down, I ran into Kristin from EA’s event planning team, and she gave me an awesome Plumbob Bracelet!
First up, an empty table full of food. I swear there’s people sitting down, you just can’t see them. At the table next to me sat a man with the #CurtisPlague. It was a plague so evil, some of us took it back home.
Once we we all had our fair share of the #CurtisPlague, we headed out to tour the City of Cologne. First stop, the Kölner Dom. We all split into groups of 10, and toured the Cologne Cathedral with our very own tour guides.
There were also some crazy personalities outside the cathedral. MeloMore and others even encountered the character from SAW. 😮
After the amazing tour of the Cologne Cathedral, we packed up headed to Art Otel for lunch. EA laid out a huge buffet full of yummy foods, complete with a chocolate fountain! 😀
After we were nice and full, some of us split to relax at the hotel for a bit, and others headed to the Chocolate Factory and Sports Museum. I was one of the many who headed back to the hotel, desperately in need of an electronics charge!
Once we were all charged and chocolate-ed up, we boarded our special Sims Camp Bus and headed for The EA Press Conference! 😀
While on the way to the press conference, EA had us sign our life away for a USB stick full of The Sims 4 Goodies. You can see what all the fuss was about in this post. 😉
Once we arrived, I had no idea what was in store for us. It is much different to watch a conference via the internet, than it is to be there and experience it live in person. If there is one part of this trip that really stuck with me, it was the Press Conference. It was an unforgettable experience!
With the Press Conference behind us, we headed to Gaffel am Dom for dinner. Nom nom nom!
After the first day of events, we headed back to the hotel for our “after party”. The after party typically included simmers in my room. 😛 This night was especially memorable, because it was the night we figured out what the maids did when we were all gone.
Sims Network, iPodZeke, and I, walked into my room to the smell of poo! Not knowing what caused this terrible smell in my room, I checked the bathroom just in case. Low and behold, I had a present waiting for me in the toilet. 🙁 The maids pooped in my room! Watch the video clip of our reaction here.
In order to rid this terrible odor, I opened the window to air out the room. When I returned to the room later that night, I noticed a significant amount of flying bugs in my room.
I have a terrible phobia of bugs, so I spared no time taking photos. The only way to explain what had happen, was to find a photo on the internet…
They were everywhere. Pillows, bed sheets, bathroom…everywhere they could possibly be. 🙁 It was about 2:30am, and luckily I found SimGoodie and iPodZeke in the hallway returning from their nightly outing. I called the front desk to ask for spray, or a new room, and the man told me to turn the lights off and open the window so the bugs would fly out. O.o
They refused to give me a new room, claiming they were fully booked, so I started searching for nearby hotels to spend the night. I was not about to sleep with hundreds of bugs in my room! 😛 iPodZeke took the initiative to call the front desk and tell him we would give the hotel a bad review…and guess what? I got a new room! 😀
To relieve the stress of my hectic night, we decided to watch some TV. If the rest of my room stories weren’t bizarre enough, a German version of Jerry Springer topped the cake! A man who had a foot fetish, married a woman’s toe, and licked them! 😆 What a crazy night!
After an hour of watching toe licking on TV, I finally fell asleep! This was the conclusion of Day Two in Germany. Tomorrow was Sims Camp at Gamescom Day!
