Here to kick off July’s Community Spotlight is YouTuber Joewaaaayyy! In a brief introduction below, Joewaaaayyy gives readers a chance to learn a bit more about what he does. If you don’t already know who he is, you will now! Take it away Joewaaaayyy!
Hey everyone, I am Joey and I’m known as Joewaaaayyy on the internet! I have been in the Simming Community for slightly over a year now, my first upload date was June 15th, 2013.
Currently I upload only Sims 3 Let’s Plays on my channel, but I do plan on expanding my variety of games in the future when I can afford the equipment. When I was 8 years old and before my current channel, I used to upload Mario Kart videos to YouTube *shakes head in embarrassment*, but that channel is long gone.
I have been playing The Sims for 9(ish) years now. When I was 6, my sisters and I would fight over The Sims: Vacation disk to see who would get to play first. As we grew older, my sisters faded away from The Sims, but I was still playing constantly every day. My cousins introduced me to The Sims 2, and that is where this obsession turned for the worst (or should I say the better?). I bought every expansion pack, stuff pack, and played the game for 6 years.
I came across TheQuxxn’s The Sims 3: Generations Let’s Play in April 2012, and was addicted. I watched all 70 parts in less than a week, and finally bought the The Sims 3 base game and Generations expansion the following week. From that point on, I saw Quxxn as my idol, and was determined to do my own let’s plays one day. (I also got to talk to her on QZJ in June last year, one of the best moments in my life.)
When you first start YouTube, 2,000 subscribers doesn’t seem much but when you actually reach that milestone, its jaw dropping. The support I have received in the past year has been overwhelming and amazing. It’s weird to say that almost double the amount of people in my school follows me on the internet.
I just started an Ambitions Let’s Play on my channel, my way to wrap up The Sims 3 is to explore the aspects of the expansion pack I forgot about 2 years ago. I cannot wait for The Sims 4, even with the bad news we have received (but don’t forget the good, too)!
