Here to kick off SimsVIP’s May Community Spotlight is Sims YouTuber Vixella! In a brief introduction below, Sasha gives readers a chance to learn a bit more about what she does. Take it away!
Hi guys! My name is Sasha and I’m a Youtuber that goes by the name Vixella. I used to be known as FancySimmer but have recently changed my name to Vixella for a more personal feel. On Youtube I make gaming videos of The Sims, Minecraft and any other games I feel like recording. I started doing Youtube in December of 2013 and my first Let’s Play started in February 2014. For The Sims, I focus on Let’s Plays, Builds & Create A Sim videos.
I was introduced to The Sims at an extremely young age, somewhere around the age of 6 or 7, when The Sims for PC was first released. I can remember seeing the trailer and just falling in love with it immediately. I probably watched it over 100 times before I finally received the game. Once I finally had the game in my hands, my parents basically didn’t see me for a few weeks. I was playing non-stop, I loved it. So from then on I continued to buy every expansion pack until The Sims 2 was released and the same patterned followed.
I’ve always appreciated playing for the family aspect of the game, I love having huge sim families. But recently I have become quite obsessed with the building side of the game. I’ve never been that person who was automatically great at building, but I’ve always played building games otherwise. I just liked building and creating, I didn’t care whether or not I was good at it. But I wanted to upload a building video more than anything, seeing as those have always been my favorite Sim videos to watch. So I can remember sitting down and practicing for a few months straight, meaning I did nothing but build in The Sims during any free time I had (which is a lot). Eventually, I started to learn what my favorite styles were, what looks good and what doesn’t, and just general building techniques. I really do love it.
From there, that’s when I started really getting into Minecraft and the ability to create in that game as well, but that’s a topic for another day. I actually fell in love with building so much that I prefer doing that in my game now, rather than playing. It will probably one day take over my channel, but we’ll see what happens in time.
I’ve made so many amazing friends through Youtube & I cherish all the Skype calls/chats we share together. Twitter is my favorite way to talk to my viewers, I love seeing all your responses or fanart & even your edits on Instagram! I nearly cry every time I read a letter from a viewer, I just love them so much. I feel very blessed that I can make people happy, it truly is a wonderful feeling.
I would like to give a huge thank you to Alexis (Sims VIP) for this amazing opportunity to be a community spotlight, I feel very honored! Thank you to my viewers for being such amazing and sweet people. I love you guys so so much!
Much love, Vixella
