Halloween Spooktacular!

All Hallows Eve is upon us once again, harking in the dark angels of the night….and jack ‘o’ lanterns.  In celebration of this most eerie holiday, please enjoy twenty mysterious homes of particular disquiet.  Although they are at their ookiest at night, they’re pictured in daylight to help showcase the special assets of each of these custom content free and available for download in the Gallery ghostly abodes. Boo!

1. Bewitched Retreat by Simproved, §138,636

Can spooky homes be adorable?  YES!  This charming vine tangled home is ideal for the friendly witches out there.  The first floor includes a sunroom with workbench and game table, an eat-in kitchen with a cauldron, and a parlor with bookcases and guitar.  The second floor holds a landing with a chess board, guest room with a single and double bed, and master bedroom also with double and single beds, bookcase and en suite bath.  The home includes a back patio with easel, and the grounds have garden planters, a large cauldron, and unique collectibles.

Richly glowing with a reddish hue, this haunted home is interestingly otherworldly.  The first floor has a parlor with a piano, violin, fireplace, bar, and television, and a recreation room with indoor pool, yoga mat, and weight bench, and a half bathroom.  The second floor holds a landing which is open to the first floor with a home office area with bookcases and computer, a dining room with stereo, and a kitchen.  The basement holds a guest or child’s bedroom with two single beds and the master bedroom with en suite bath.  The grounds are sparingly landscaped and dotted with tombstones.

A massive tree has intertwined itself with the soul of this enchanting cottage.  The first floor has a parlor with fireplace and bookcases, eat-in kitchen with a fire pit, and a half bath.  The second floor holds a bathroom, and four bedrooms; two with single beds and two with double.  The third floor has a landing with home office area including desk and easel, a child’s room/nursery with violin and dollhouse, and a bathroom.  The fourth floor has a single bed bedroom.  The basement has a storage area and an alchemy room with loads of potions and collectibles as well as a cauldron.  The grounds offer a small pumpkin patch and a family cemetery.

Easily pictured at the end of a darkened road, this rugged home draped in ivy has an isolated aura.  The first floor has a foyer with piano, shared parlor, and dining room with fireplace, a bathroom, and a kitchen with stereo.  The second floor landing serves as the master bedroom with bookcases, and a door leading to the balcony with patio set and garden planters with Great quality spliced plants.  The basement houses the pet cow plant and the grounds offer a family burial plot; loved ones are always nearby after the cow plant has eaten.

Come closer my pretties…peer inside the home of a most powerful witch.  A charmed cottage to be sure, this unassuming abode has secrets to keep from the parents in the neighborhood.  The first floor has a parlor with fireplace, bookcase, computer, stereo, bathroom, and kitchen.  The second floor is spell casting central with a cauldron, bookcase, computer, and easel (with custom painting).  The basement holds a sitting room with fireplace, television, bar, bookcase, computer, a master bedroom, bathroom, and two children’s cells, ahem, bedrooms; one with a chemistry set and art table, and the other with dollhouse and voodoo doll.  The grounds include a swimmable fishing pond, chess board, monkey bars, and Perfect quality plants (even Death plants!) in garden planters.  Visit if you dare!

Imposing and beautiful, this brick home is designed to hold its secrets for centuries.  The first floor has a large foyer that branches to a home office with bookcase and computer, bathroom, a kitchen, and a secret door leading to the basement.  The second floor holds a living area with television, library area with bookcases, and four balconies; one with barbecue and patio set.  The third floor has a master bedroom, bathroom, and two children’s bedrooms with toy boxes.  While all this seems quite traditional and unassuming, that secret door adds a level of complexity.  Down in the basement waits three holding cells for all sorts of nefarious deeds.

9. Haunted McPike Mansion by soxatisu7, §253,309

Fashioned after the McPike Mansion in Alton, IL, this manse is considered one of the most haunted locations in the US.  In a state of neglect, this home is still livable and dares Sims to stay the night.  The first floor has a parlor with dual fireplaces, stereo, and television, kitchen with bar, dining room with fireplace, and bathroom.  The second floor has a landing with a chess board, bathroom, bedroom with fireplace, and a second bedroom with fireplace and adjacent home office with bookcases and computer.  The third floor is the attic with lots of storage, plus a photo studio, easel, punching bag, and workbench.  The first level basement holds the boiler, etc, and a secret door leading to a mysterious room with toilet, sink, and burial plots.  The second level wine cellar is the most haunted section of the home.  The grounds offer a murky swimmable pond and patio with barbecue.  Is anysim brave enough to restore this home to its original glory?

Elegant interior and beautifully constructed, this gorgeous manse has a surprising secret.  The first floor includes a foyer, sitting room with bar, dining room with fireplace, kitchen, half bath, and sunroom with a bonsai tree and harvest ready garden planters.  The back patio is an excellent spot for an outdoor recital with seating and a piano.  The second floor has a sitting area with bookcases on the landing, a master bedroom with computer and en suite bath, child’s room with computer, toy box, and screened bathing area, an art room with easel, child’s art desk, and child’s chemistry set plus access to balconies.  The rear balcony offers a sitting area, child’s violin, monkey bars,  chess board, and dollhouse.  The third floor has an attic bedroom, and a secret door leading to an empty room.  One may never know what went on up there.  The basement has a storage area with art storage and an unusual barricaded swimming pool.  Winding tunnels thread underneath the home, and a stairway deposits one in the back garden within the hedge maze.

This Victorian masterpiece has been converted from a rich man’s paradise to a Halloween horror.  The first floor has a parlor with piano, fireplace, chess board, television, and jukebox, a home office with computer, bookcase, and fish tank, and a kitchen.  The second floor holds the master bedroom with a wash stand, a children’s bedroom with computer, toy box, and fireplace, sunroom with wilting plants, and a murky swimming pool.  The third floor holds a recreation room with a weight bench and foosball table, and a bathroom.  The basement has a party room with bar, dance floor, DJ Booth, pumpkin carving station, and bathroom.  The grounds are slightly unkempt with a burial plot and an underground mausoleum.  Chances are spirits of former owners may decide to appear for the party.

This marvelous manor will interest scientific and supernatural Sims.  The first floor has an open floor plan and includes a music area with piano, dining room with bookcase, kitchen, bathroom, and sunroom with easel, art storage, and garden planters.  The second floor has a living area with bookcase and television, child’s room with dollhouse and en suite bath, and master bedroom with computer and en suite bath.  In the back garden, there’s a greenhouse that has been fitted to allow for a rocket launch through the roof, garden planters, a drained swimming pool, and a small memorial.  An underground staircase leads to a specialized room with workbench, pumpkin carving station, weight bench, punching bag, a shrine with book, bookcases, and secret entrance leading to a scientific lab with a chemistry lab, chemical analyzer, and the rocket launch pad.
