The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection received an update in an effort to bring the game in-line with other Origin titles and improve the installation process. According to testing done by Crinrict, downloading and testing this update revealed that EA finally removed SecuROM from this game. This gives the game better compatibility with Windows 10.
If you took advantage of the Sims 2 Ultimate Collection promotion three years ago and did not remove SecuROM manually, just know that this update is probably not going to remove it for you. Head over to the SecuROM Removal Tool for info on removing it.
