With the release of The Sims 4 Tiny Living Stuff, Maxis released some minor, yet interesting updates for both beds and bookends. The January game patch gives these items some new interactions to help save space and increase energy output.

If you’re hoping that cheap bed you picked has enough power to satisfy your Sim’s energy levels, you can now use the new upgrade options to help. Sims who have a high Handiness skill and 4 common upgrade parts, can now perform following upgrades on beds:

  • Massage Controls – Increases Energy Gain during Sleep and Nap. Requires Handiness Level 6.
  • Mattress Firmness – Upgrades the Mattress Firmness to allow Sims to have a more restful sleep and wake up in a positive mood. Requires Handiness Level 8.

While finishing off The Sims 4 Tiny Living Guide, I also realized the new bookend had a special interaction that allows Sims to purchase and read books. At first I thoughts this was related to Tiny Living’s space saving concept, but looking into this further revealed that all bookends were updated. If you’re looking for a way to save space or eliminate bookshelves in your home, start using bookends instead!
