It seems like while we were distracted with The Sims 4 Carnaval Streetwear Kit being leaked a few days ago, another piece of information went over our heads. On the very same day of the leak, Brazilian label YB Music shared on Twitter that two of its songs had been licensed to EA for The Sims 4.

The tweet says: “There’s ybmusic in the new The Sims 4 from Electronic Arts, with licensing for Thiago França’s Frevo de Segunda and Ladeira Véia“.

Thiago França is a very renowned and respected Brazilian musician who released the album A Espetacular Charanga do França: Nunca É Carnaval in 2021 with new recordings for traditional Carnaval songs. So it fits the theme of the pack quite perfectly.

Now the leaked image of the pack has a sim on the foreground who resembles a bit too much Pabllo Vittar, a very famous Brazilian pop singer. She has partnered with The Sims in the past doing promotional videos for the game.

Last time The Sims partnered with musicians (during last year’s Summer Sims Sessions, with Joy Oladokun, Glass Animals and Bebe Rexha), the game was updated with new music from them. So there’s a possibility we’ll have one of Pabllo’s hits coming in an upcoming patch.

Assuming Thiago França’s tracks are the only two new songs added to the game, we can’t help but wonder what music station will feature them. While Pabllo’s music fits in greatly within the Pop music station, his tracks are too distinct for any of the existing ones we have.

Could we be getting a new radio station with other music from other artists, either Brazilian or from other countries that celebrate Carnaval? Will this be the first time a kit will bring a radio station, or is the new music free for everyone? I guess we’ll find out soon enough, since the leak points to a February 3rd release.

Meanwhile, grab a caipirinha and enjoy the Brazilian Summer with these two tracks.
