Happy Halloween Simmers! Any plans for your Simmies today? Have any Halloween Creations? Feel free to share photos and creations here in comments, or over on our forums! Also be sure to pick up The Sims 3 Halloween freebies over at the Sims 3 store!
With no more The Sims 3 Store content being released and The Sims 3 Forums being put into Read Only mode, it might be a good idea to start backing up any The Sims 3 Store content you have. We have already created a guide explaining how to back up your content, but we wanted to highlight a potential source of future frustration now.
When re-installing backed up versions of your The Sims 3 Store content it will only work when using the same game version. This means that if you download Store Content with a physical or digital game version, the content will only install (WITHOUT ERROR) when using the same game version.
Example: If you download Store content with a Disc-based version of the game installed, you will not be able to re-install the store content with a Digital version of the game. Additionally, if you download Store Content with a digital version of the game installed, you will not be able to re-install the store content with a disc-based version of the game.
We have created an illustration to help you work out which Store content will work with which game version. Start from the left and answer the questions. Click the image to make it larger.
As stated in the July Community Blog, The Sims 3 Store has come to an end. If you have any Simpoints left in your account, you will need to use them up as The Sims 4 will not support Simpoints.
In the meantime, The Sims 3 Store will remain open for everyone to access their content, but what we don’t know is how long they will keep the store running. As a reminder, be sure to download, save, and backup all of your Sims 3 Store content regularly, this way you are all set to go when the store is eventually closed.
Now on to some sad news. SimGuruCopeland, a Sims 3 Store Guru, is saying farewell to simmers. As of Friday, he will no longer be working on The Sims team, and he left us with the following tweet:
My last day as a SimGuru is Friday, so I'm updating this account to reflect that. Thank you all for making it a wonderful couple of years!

Last Venue of Amore – (1700 SimPoints) Long ago, there was a beautiful city built on the sands of a charming ocean shore. Sims often said it was built upon the love and passion of all those who resided there. If only they also had built on a stronger foundation than sand since much of the city was swept away with the tides. Love still stands, however, amongst the waterways and awe-inspiring architecture of this: the Last Venue of Amore.
Gondola Of The Sinking City – (Not Available For Individual Purchase) Nothing says romance like floating down the canals of the Last Venue of Amore. Ride the waterways, basking in the rich history of this venue that time forgot, but whose love remains eternal.
