Here to kick off SimsVIP’s April Community Spotlight is YouTuber SimLicy! In a brief introduction below, Dawn gives readers a chance to learn a bit more about what she does in the community. Take it away Dawn!
Hello everyone my name is Dawn, I am 28 years old and from the west coast of the United States. I have a YouTube channel where I go by the name of SimLicy. I have been sharing videos for about a year and a half. I mostly share speed builds, but I also do create-a-sims, let’s plays, and the occasional challenge.
I was first introduced to the sims when I was about 11 years old, I was at my best childhood friends house and her brother was playing this new game on their family computer. I was very intrigued and my friend and I could not stop bugging him to let us play. Unfortunately, her parents were very strict on letting us spend too much time on the computer so we did not get to play that much. This was about the extent of my simming experience until the Sims 4.
Sometime during the winter of 2016 I randomly downloaded the Sims Free Play app on my phone. After sometime of playing, I started to wonder if the sims video games were still a thing (funny huh?) So, I decided to ask my husband if he knew anything about it and he told me that there was actually a Sims 4. “Mind Blown!” So I decided that I must go buy it immediately and check it out! And I am so happy that I did! When I first got it set up, I had no idea what I was doing so, I decided to do some Google-ing. This opened up an amazing world of Sims YouTube videos and I have been hooked ever since!
It is so crazy how my random decision to download an app lead me where I am today. Starting a YouTube channel is one of the best decisions I ever made. I can’t imagine any other way I would have been able to meet so many amazing people and from all over the world. I have learned so much about myself and I look forward to meeting more wonderful people in the simming community.
