Sims deserve some rest, relaxation, and adventure this holiday season. And there’s no better way to give them that chance than with The Sims™ 4 Outdoor Retreat* and The Sims 4 Jungle Adventure. Both are releasing December 4, 2018 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One! Yes, it’s time for some outdoor vacation fun. And the best part is, you won’t get any mosquito bites. Your Sims, on the other hand, might end up with a mysterious disease. But, we digress. Here are five essential tidbits you should know about each pack.
Outdoor Retreat
This pack boasts a new destination filled with fresh gameplay possibilities, objects, activities, and a unique skill.
1. Destination Unknown
Your Sims can now make an escape from their everyday lives into the pine-filled air of Granite Falls, venturing deep into the woods to discover outdoor surprises, including dangerous and wondrous herbs and an interesting species of insects. Let’s just hope that your Sims aren’t squeamish about creepy crawlers.
2. Set Up Camp
Armed with the proper supplies, your Sims can create the coziest camping site. Sims can purchase a tent and outfit themselves in hiking gear. And, for the less adventurous, Sims can still camp out in the comfort of their backyard.
3. Take a Hike (and Other Stuff)
Join a game of horseshoes and go on a hike in the national park, or try to find the hermit rumored to live in the deepest parts of the forest. Then, gather ‘round the campfire, enjoy roasted marshmallows, and tell ghost stories. Or, relax on a blanket for a night of stargazing, letting your Sim’s imagination run wild!
4. Calling All Herbalists
Build your Sim’s herbalism skill to create a variety of useful remedies, from insect repellent to a soothing concoction that can aid a tense Sim. This skill can also help Sims identify which plants are edible and which are poisonous. That’s a good Sim to have around.
5. Fuzzy Wuzzy Was a Sim
Get your silliest Sim in the mood for nature with the fierce and fuzzy bear costume! See what happens when your Sim wanders around the campsite in this getup, especially at night. Back at home, Sims can throw it on to keep cozy or, you know, just generally freak out other Sims.
Jungle Adventure
If it’s an exotic vacation you seek, then this pack has your Sims covered, possibly in bug bites. With it, they’ll explore Selvadorada in all its lush, colorful, and treasure-seeking glory.
1. Locals Only
When they travel to Selvadorada, your Sims can meet resident friends at the cantina and prepare for all things wild. To learn the culture, have Sims try traditional foods, dance to new music, practice native customs, and shop for authentic décor. Plus, colorful fashions will have your Sims feeling ready to take on whatever the jungle throws at them.
2. Prepare or Beware
Exploring the jungle is one of the most exciting parts of this pack, but we recommend your Sims gear up first. Hiking attire will get your Sims in the spirit of adventure and preparing for danger with items from the marketplace will help your Sims explore.
3. Shhhh, Secrets
There are areas of the jungle that are locked off with magic on every trip, so keep your eyes open for hidden paths and locked gates. These change from trip to trip, which means if you want to truly see everything, you’ll need to venture out multiple times.
4. Tales from the Temple
This is gonna be big. Big and mysterious. Mysterious and creepy. All the things! When Sims stumble upon the unique temple, there’s no telling what they’ll find. Different rooms can unlock delight (or terror!), priceless relics, and even treasures. Plus, each time your Sims visit the temple, they’ll experience new challenges and uncover different treasures or traps. Like we said, make sure you prepare before embarking on this trip.
5. Great Excavations
Sims can excavate and examine hidden items, which could turn out to be precious objects. Score. Check them out at the archaeology table to decide if they’re worth their salt, butsalt but watch out for ones that are fake. You wouldn’t want to display something fake on your Sim’s mantle, now would you?
