SimGurus shared some additional details from The Sims 4 Seasons, and as they continue to trickle out information on the game, we will be sure to keep you posted!
❗ SimGuruKate is currently taking questions for an upcoming Q&A, so if you have any questions to ask the team about Seasons, head over to this tweet and ask away!
I’m going to answer just a few of the questions I have seen about Seasons. If your question isn’t answered don’t worry, we still plan to release a Q&A next week!
Q. Will there be new foods/recipes?
A. Yes! And some will make you hungry in real life. 🤤— Kate🌷☀️🍂☃️ (@SimGuruKate) May 25, 2018
Q. Will the Penguin be returning in this EP?
A. Not this time around. We couldn’t get them to leave the Antarctic.— Kate🌷☀️🍂☃️ (@SimGuruKate) May 25, 2018
Q. Can the sprinklers be used to water gardens?
A. Yup! And guess what? The rain will also water your garden as well!— Kate🌷☀️🍂☃️ (@SimGuruKate) May 25, 2018
Q. Will there be a new collection?
A. Not this time around.Want to know something sad? I personally have never completed any of the current collections. I get close but never finish. *Embarrassed*
— Kate🌷☀️🍂☃️ (@SimGuruKate) May 25, 2018
Q. Will my Sims get to suffer allergies like us mere humans?
A. No. And we are incredibly jealous that they are allergy free.— Kate🌷☀️🍂☃️ (@SimGuruKate) May 25, 2018
And our final question for today.
Q. Will there be new harvestables?
A. Yesiree— Kate🌷☀️🍂☃️ (@SimGuruKate) May 25, 2018
That is not it at all. We share the information when we can and when we think it’s relevant. But there are little hidden things, Easter Eggs, fun discoveries we want the Community to discover on their own.
— Kate🌷☀️🍂☃️ (@SimGuruKate) May 26, 2018
Hey Guys, I said this yesterday but want to say it again. I do see your comments/concerns about snow and have passed them up the chain. I can’t comment anymore than that. Also know that this EP is definitely coming out on June 22nd and will not be delayed.
— Kate🌷☀️🍂☃️ (@SimGuruKate) May 26, 2018
I totally understand. The one thing I would remind you is that sometimes changes are not made, not because we aren’t listening to you, but because we genuinely can’t.
— Kate🌷☀️🍂☃️ (@SimGuruKate) May 26, 2018
Yes 🙂
— Emory (@SimGuruEmory) May 25, 2018
Sorry, no beaches as there's no new world, but there are plenty of other fun things to do in the summer 🙂
— Emory (@SimGuruEmory) May 25, 2018
Previously existing saves will be prompted to pick a season once you first load them up. After that they'll go through the seasonal cycle just like saves made after Seasons.
— Emory (@SimGuruEmory) May 25, 2018
There are indeed some groovin' new radio stations 🎶🎵
— Emory (@SimGuruEmory) May 25, 2018
I can't talk about snow right now, but you'll be able to change season length in options. When you start a new game or load up an existing non-Seasons save, you'll be able to pick a season to start in. I know this isn't satisfactory, but we'll be able to talk more in the future.
— Emory (@SimGuruEmory) May 26, 2018
Sorry. One of the trade offs we had to make. We'll try to create more soon!
— Grant Rodiek (@SimGuruGrant) May 25, 2018
We didn't make Mermaids in Seasons. https://t.co/x2pTOzHVRp
— Grant Rodiek (@SimGuruGrant) May 26, 2018
We did not implement horoscopes. https://t.co/M497w0BtDO
— Grant Rodiek (@SimGuruGrant) May 26, 2018
@SimGuruGrant so when are we getting a livestream? I want to see Season in action, I can't contain my excitement.
— EvieGames (@bewitchedbrew) May 25, 2018
Early/Mid June most likely. https://t.co/lNvRt70v43
— Grant Rodiek (@SimGuruGrant) May 26, 2018
@SimGuruKate answered this, but we did not create a new world for Seasons. We focused all of our efforts on making sure Seasons looked great on the many neighborhoods we've shipped! https://t.co/6OKoT9HCQA
— Grant Rodiek (@SimGuruGrant) May 26, 2018
So, winter is obviously great. But, I was really delighted how much the team invested in Summer this time. The kiddie pool is ADORABLE. https://t.co/wFcmD9zAsl
— Grant Rodiek (@SimGuruGrant) May 26, 2018
Sure, why not? We didn't add hotels for Seasons. https://t.co/JjaXM1rauI
— Grant Rodiek (@SimGuruGrant) May 26, 2018
@SimGuruGrant @SimGuruKate there's a new life state/occult sim in Seasons EP? Please, say yes, please, say yes!
— Daniel Romanini (@daniel_willyan) May 26, 2018
Not in the way you guys think, which is why I said sorta. https://t.co/iw5SZpAbfw
— Grant Rodiek (@SimGuruGrant) May 26, 2018
We did not update Plant Sims. https://t.co/QA00WBX7gs
— Grant Rodiek (@SimGuruGrant) May 26, 2018
im gonna assume you arent allowed to say if theres any new festivals 😬
— Lex (@simmerlex) May 26, 2018
We focused on the holidays for Seasons. https://t.co/BYfiZhNOSc
— Grant Rodiek (@SimGuruGrant) May 26, 2018
Decor.
— Grant Rodiek (@SimGuruGrant) May 26, 2018
Sorry, no soccer set. But there are other fun spring / summer activities this time around, as well as all the new gardening updates
— Emory (@SimGuruEmory) May 26, 2018
This time around we're not using discrete temperatures (F vs. C squabbles), but it can get cold enough for blizzards and hot enough for heatwaves. As for individual neighborhood weathers, that's something for simmers to find out once they start playing 🙂
— Emory (@SimGuruEmory) May 26, 2018
You can pick a starting season, but the seasons will follow the same cycle (spring-summer-fall-winter-spring). However, the handy Weather Controller object might let you change that…🔧
