SimGurus took to Twitter today to give more info on The Sims 4 Seasons Expansion Pack. Confirmed today is a new TV Channel, Character Values from The Sims 4 Parenthood Game Pack, and some new general information on Seasons.
Q. Does raking leaves or shoveling snow help children with Responsibility if you also have the Parenthood GP?
A. Yes! Now can someone tell me how to convince my 18 month old to do this?

Q. Will there be frost on windows in the winter?
A. Yes!
— Kate 🔜 EA Play (@SimGuruKate) May 30, 2018
Q. Is there a Weather Channel for TVs?
A. Yes! Be sure to check it regularly so you can ensure you are properly dressed.

Q. Can your Sim get sunburnt?
A. No, but they can overheat which can have deadly consequences.
— Kate 🔜 EA Play (@SimGuruKate) May 30, 2018
Yes, but remember Winter in Newcrest May look different than Winter in Oasis Springs.

They blend, and it's very pretty #willitblend #yes

Sorry, no sunburns or tans in Seasons. The summer season does have other effects if you hang out too long in the heat though…☀️
— Emory (@SimGuruEmory) May 30, 2018
Yep! There's a snazzy new piece of UI for that
— Emory (@SimGuruEmory) May 30, 2018
These maps are unfortunately going to stay the same. They're actually fairly expensive to make, and having to support basically 4 maps with every new world we release post-Seasons takes away time that could be spent on new pack features. Sorry!

One of our engineers likes to say "it's software, anything is possible." While that's true (as the amazing TS4 modding community shows), everything comes at the cost of time. Our team works *very* hard to get as much into each pack's development timeline as possible (1/2)
— Emory (@SimGuruEmory) May 30, 2018
But there are inevitably some features that are too expensive, for too little gameplay / visual payoff. We try to make the best decisions for each pack, but since The Sims closely mirrors real life (which is a bit hard to fully emulate), there are things that fall short. (2/2)

I'm sorry if that isn't the answer you want to hear, but we're all very passionate about the game we work on and aren't trying to shortchange our players. If we had some kind of magical time device (hint hint @jk_rowling) that would be ideal, but reality is not that convenient. pic.twitter.com/NLWrsbWVQh

Not wrong, but different. We've also changed the quality of our visuals, the features included, I believe, and that changes how we go about…well, everything.

One of the interesting things about TS2 Seasons is that its big features were gardening and fishing! Which we did in base game (like TS3). TS3 added festivals…which we did in City Living! Doh. It was a fun challenge.

We've released over 20 packs for The Sims 4 so far. Expansions, Game Packs, and Stuff Packs, and we still plan to keep going. We plan to keep making content for years.
— Grant Rodiek (@SimGuruGrant) May 30, 2018
We didn't want to repeat a mistake we've made in the past, Marcel.
— Grant Rodiek (@SimGuruGrant) May 30, 2018
The default is 7 days per season.
— Grant Rodiek (@SimGuruGrant) May 30, 2018
Folks: I've said this several times. This had nothing to do with performance.
— Grant Rodiek (@SimGuruGrant) May 30, 2018
Folks: While we make a lot of decisions to improve and optimize performance on a wide range of PCs, our decision regarding deep snow was not due to performance. Be nice to each other.
