Question: How exciting are the new holidays in The Sims 4 Seasons EP?

The answer, my friend, is very! If you don’t already know, the new pack comes with this new system that lets sims celebrate special dates that are made from one to five traditions. We’ll get a few preset holidays, but we can create our own holidays from a variety of options, from decor to the aforementioned traditions.

So I came up with a few ideas of custom holidays that could add some fun gameplay to The Sims 4 Seasons. I also would love to hear if you guys tried any of these ideas or better yet, what holidays you guys created in game.

“Yay, it’s nature”

Earth Day

Yes, Earth Day is a thing in real life, though I’m not sure if it can be considered a proper holiday. I thought that we could change that in The Sims 4 by creating a certain date, preferably in Spring, when sims celebrate the land by having gardening, water fun and perhaps even fire as traditions. It’s a way for them to feel closer to their planet (which I now realize might not even be Earth…).

Treat Yo’Self

If you’re a Parks & Recreation fan, you totally know what I’m talking about. Today is about taking good care of yourself, whether you deserve it or not. Open presents and drinking are the base of this hedonistic date, which is complete by giving your sims a thankful spirit.

WeirdoFest

Let’s celebrate all things that are odd and out of place all in one day. On this holiday, sims wear costumes and exercise their mischief spirit, all in good fun. Need an extra dose of weird? Why not have Father Winter and the Flower Bunny come to visit at the same time? And yes, streaking is allowed.

Choresmas

Do you hate cleaning and gardening? Why not only do these things once a year then? *wink wink*

Temptation Day

There are two sides to this day. It starts with fasting, and ends in yummy goodness. While your Sims are fasting, have them participate in baking and also grilling (bar-b-que). After six hours resisting temptation, they can finally indulge in all the wonderful delicious nom noms. Why not pour some drinks and cook a grand meal? It’s allowed now!

Purge Day

“Ok, this one has the potential to be an all time favorite for many players. Once a year, sims are allowed – nay, they’re

encouraged – to engage in activities such as fighting, airing grievances and also letting their mischief spirit come out to play. If that’s not enough, go light a pile of leaves on fire, or even do some cleaning. You might as well clean up your life since it’ll be a while until you get to do all of this again.

“Sorry I have to yell at you, it’s mandatory today”
