SimGuruHydra – Issues w/Horses and Graphical Issues

SimGuruHydra has posted up a thread in Technical regarding Horses & Graphical Issues. She explains how to make sure your Computer & Graphics Card is up to date if you are experiencing any issues.

Seems they forget to add a 2nd part of what you should do or expect from EA if you are up to date and this is not a PC related problem. I also find it odd that this isn’t stickied in the Pets forum. After all Pets is the reason for all these issues. 😛

Pets LE still being offered by several retailers! (US)

For those of you in the US of A without the Limited Edition of Pets, here is some good news! Several major retailers still have many, many, many, copies of Pets LE available to order online and on their store shelves.

I have only seen the “standard” edition in a local retailer chain here in Chicago, but after confirmation with them, they ordered from EA post-release.  Below are several retailers who still have the Limited Edition, and to be honest, I don’t think they will be running out of them anytime soon.

Video Game Writers Review Pets (PC)

Video Game Writers has a short review on The Sims 3 Pets for PC. There is also a small paragraph for Console, but who likes console anyway? 😛

When I was 11, I discovered a game called SimAnt. It was a simple game by a company called Maxis, that allowed gamers to control the daily life and movements of an ant colony. It wasn’t a story-based affair by any means, but was strangely addictive. It was my first experience with the “player as god” genre, and while not my most influential game, it certainly deserves honors in the hall of fame. Later I discovered SimCity and had an equally strong love affair.

Maxis took the simulator genre to new heights in 2000 with The Sims. Here was a game that allowed you to control the minutia of people, from their bathroom habits to their love lives. Again, no story to speak of really, but there was the same addictive properties of SimAnt. Each new addition into The Sims family has expanded upon the features of the last, with shinier graphics and tighter control. The Sims 3 is the latest installment, and each expansion added allows you to manipulate (for good or evil) your digital people in entirely new ways.

Games Radar – Sims 3 Pets Review (PC)

Games Radar Reviews Pets! Check it out!

It’s not easy being a horse, especially a horse working at GamesRadar. Lunchtime is the loneliest. Everyday my cordial offerings of healthful oats and fresh carrots are ignored by my human co-workers. As soon as noon arrives, it’s always burritos this, or hamburgers that. The average equine only lives about 30 years. But I swear! The way the fast food loving staff at GamesRadar eats day in and day out, they’ll all beat me to the grave. But I digress.

Today, I’m here to offer our publication’s human audience a real horse’s perspective on The Sims 3: Pets. The latest expansion in the series offers the usual extras with new lifetime wishes, skills, career opportunities, buildings, and items – all set in the fresh country-side neighborhood, Appaloosa Plains. But of course, the biggest and most important addition the expansion brings are horses and the ability to play as them.

The Gamer Access – Sims 3 Pets Review (PC)

Not too long ago Maxis presented us with little furry friends to keep our Sims company and us more entertained. The popular expansion has returned to The Sims 3 this time with a lot more pizazz and unicorns! Read more for my full review of The Sims 3 Pets.

I spent a full week playing The Sims 3: Pets nearly non-stop. Half of my time was spent doing everything I could to find and adopt a unicorn into my little family, the other half concluded having way too much fun exploring all the new social interactions between my Sims and their pets, as well as making and watching my pets torture my neighbors and destroy their things. But before all of that malicious fun, I checked out the new features in Create-A-Household and saw what an impeccable job Maxis has done improving the Create-A-Pet process from the previous Pets expansion on The Sims 2.

The Sims Style – Sims 3 Pets Review (PC)

Yes The series evolved a lot since the release of The Sims 3, with a city completely free and without barriers, almost without the annoying loading screens. Nevertheless, the Sims formula has always been the same. Create a family, a house, and evolve, employment, relationships, and life, trying to keep everything balanced – or not. It seems that the year EA tries to repeat the same formula, but in every generation of the series Yes this formula is innovated with the expansion packs.

Pets to the game brings back the much loved pets, for the third time, and still a hit. After Sims Open Season and The Sims 2 Pets, The Sims 3 Pets innovates further by bringing various animals the series Yes, that had never been added to it. In addition to the beloved dogs and cats, horses, an animal more requirements to the game since the second generation simulator lives, was finally added to the game, and with it many new features in other animals. A new city was also added to the game, Appaloosa Plains, and quiet country town. This expansion pack has not failed to follow tradition, and a new magical creature was added to the game, the unicorns. All these innovations will be presented below in an analysis written by the staff of The Sims Style, copy it, give the credits.
